Do you race motocross? Are you getting paid to race? If you answered ‘yes' to both questions congratulations, stop reading right here. If you are still reading chances are that you answered ‘no' to the second question. Next to winning, getting a paid sponsorship is a dream of every motocross racer. Rather than beat your head against the wall hunting for sponsors why not create a system and become your own racer?
Using the power of the internet and some simple internet marketing techniques becoming your own sponsor is much easier than you might think. Most motocross racer's goals are simple, get someone else to foot the high costs of racing. It isn't about having a sponsor so much as it is about not paying for your racing out of your own pocket.
Getting a sponsor is a pain and can be extremely difficult and time consuming. Instead use that same amount of time and just build your own system. How you do this is you sign up for affiliate programs and market them to your fan base. OK OK I know what you are thinking; What is an affiliate program and I don't have a fan base!
First affiliate programs are where you promote a product that someone else created and they pay you a commission to promote. Most affiliate program on the internet is free to join, there are no inventory to manage, no employees to worry about, and in most cases you don't even need your own website.
As far as a fan base goes this is simple. You can connect with potential clients through forum posting, blog responding, article marketing, video submission, and through your Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.
Simply find products that you feel would have a high demand potential to them, that you, your friends, and other racers might be interested in. Make sure that they pay a nice commission and then using the simple techniques outlined above use your affiliate URL to promote these products.
You won't get rich overnight, but if you stay consistent with your efforts overtime you will start to see the checks come rolling in. In the end it will take you less time and effort to put this system together and start to make money than to chase down a sponsor. And once your system is up and running you will make money on auto-pilot allowing you to spend less time trying to make money and more time out at the track!
